ive always been a student of some of the best musicians and over the 40 years of playing and learning ,over 30 years ago passing along tried and true methods was what I was taught is part of the responsibility as a musician

Make sure the teacher is showing you the fundamental information that you can build your own musical personality on.These methods have been around for many years through the Mel beys and Hal Leonards of the world and many other solid educational curriculum

Honestly ask about good study habits and how much commitment it takes to advance to targeted levels of improvement in your studies and playing
