About this pro

I have been coaching for the past 10 years following my college playing career at Wingate University. I also coached at Wingate University for 2 years and was the Recruiting Coordinator at DeSales University for 3 years. I was then the Assistant Director of Baseball at Perfect Performance NOVA in Tyson’s Corner, VA for 3 years. I then moved to South Carolina in July 2019 where I coached at Erskine College before being shut down due to COVID. I have now moved back to Arlington, VA for good.

I will utilize video during lessons from time to time when I need the athlete to see what I’m talking about. I have had the opportunity to work closely with former MLB player, Coach Eric Crozier and several other former professional players and have learned a tremendous amount during that time! I also was fortunate enough to have some amazing coaches throughout my college playing & coaching career to learn from that really turned me into the coach that I am today. I would love the opportunity to train your athlete!

I enjoy being able to make a positive impact on all of my players. I do that by helping them to improve their baseball skills, while also improving their confidence as a player and being a positive role model to all of my athletes.  I enjoy being more than just a coach. I enjoy the relationships that I have built with so many players over the years. Once a kid plays with me or works with me I will always do whatever I can to help that player be successful.

Coach Womer was very efficient helping me improve my swing. He know what to do after just a few swings off the tee. Very knowledgeable about hitting mechanics. As a result, I was hitting for power and average at two tournaments right after my lessons. I continue to have confidence at the plate and hit the ball hard. Thanks coach.

Coach Tyler is an amazing coach and trainer. He has worked with my 10 year old once a week- who is fairly new to the game. Coach Tyler has built my sons confidence, skill level, technique, and love for the game. Coach Tyler is extremely professional and flexible to work with and schedule instruction time. Thanks Coach Tyler for being such a great Coach. I highly recommend.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I always like to first setup a phone call with the player or the player's parent(s). During this call I want to find out a little bit about the player, find out what his/her goals are and discuss a plan to provide the athlete with the proper training and coaching that is needed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been coaching and working with youth my entire life. I played college baseball at Wingate University for 4 years before staying on as an assistant coach after graduating with a degree in Sport Management. After coaching at Wingate University, I was also the Recruiting Coordinator at DeSales University for 3 years and an Assistant Coach at Erskine College for a year.

I have spent the past 6 years coaching youth baseball players from the ages of 8 years old through 18 year olds.

How did you get started teaching?

Playing my entire life then playing four years of college baseball at NCAA D-2 Wingate University in North Carolina. I went right into coaching at Wingate while I started graduated school in 2010.

What types of students have you worked with?

6 year old beginners to 25 year old minor leaguers

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find someone who you really feel comfortable with. Someone that you trust and truly has your best interest in mind.
