Immaculate School of Allied Health in Washington, DC trains Home Health Aides through an 8-week program focused on practical skills and job readiness. The school offers day, evening, and weekend classes with new cohorts starting every two weeks. The campus at 2512 24th Street NE is Metro and bus accessible. Courses are taught by experienced, licensed nurse instructors, with payment plans available upon request.
The curriculum covers personal care, communication, human development, body mechanics, assisting with ambulation and ADLs, medication assistance, meal preparation and nutrition for older adults, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, emergency preparedness, fall prevention, OSHA workplace safety, infection control and prevention, and an introduction to home care. Training includes hands-on laboratory and clinical practice.
Additional offerings include CPR and First Aid classes (new and renewal) aligned with the American Heart Association and a review course for the Home Health Aide board certification examination. Immaculate School of Allied Health collaborates with home health and home care agencies and private homes to support workforce placement needs. Its mission is to provide allied home health education for students from diverse backgrounds and prepare graduates for employment in a culturally diverse community, with a stated goal of a 95% first-attempt certification pass rate.
