About
I am a realist painter with roots in abstraction. I have studied painting with Robert Liberace, Marjorie Forgues, Alyssa Monks, and Bryan Leboeuf. I also have a foundational certificate in graphic design from Maryland institute college of art. I was a former school teacher in Mexico for an impoverished community. I love teaching and can take you from soup to nuts through the process of realist painting and defining stellar compositions.
I love exploring colors, form and progressing the field forward. I love watching others develop their artistic skill set.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would start the person on very simple still life compositions. The first thing to paint would be eggs or white objects with a very limited palette of colors. I would teach a lot of old master techniques for this. This will help the person develop a sense of shape and shadow. From there we would build up the technical skillset to do much more intricate color pieces and the person can choose whether they want to do objects or portraits (or both!). Finally we would put a focus on how to create dynamic compositions.
