About
I am well versed in surrealism and representational abstraction. I specialize in acrylic paints, ink, and gouache on any surface (typically canvas or wood).
I would like to share my artistic practice by teaching others how to channel experiences and emotions into symbols and archetypes, to create surrealist artwork.
My art helps me to channel ideas from my subconscious mind, deep emotions, and memories, to create a sub-reality-scape. This can be a very meditative and healing practice, and also sometimes a fun and lighthearted practice, depending on the intention.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First discuss their level of experience and ask what they’re hoping to gain from learning to paint or create art.
I’d start with helping them chose a specific goal or vison to work towards creating.
I'll go into basic skills of figure proportions, compositional dynamics, color blending, creating illusion of depth, gradations, and anything else that's specifically requested.
My mission in teaching art is to help others find their vision, and empower them to explore the depths of that vision.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied and am currently studying fine arts, philosophy, and sociology. These subjects are all incorporated in the practice of art, in my opionion.
I have been a practicing freelance artist for 3 years, and a contracted artist for about a year.
I primarily focus on surrealism in my own practice, but I have studied realism, minimalist linework, abstractionism, scuplture, lanscape, portraiture. I am fluent in acrylics, watercolors, gouache, charcoal, pastels, pencil, and ink.
I have taught painting classes at local venues for art fairs, and wine & paint nights.
Full disclosure, I am not a certified teacher and do not have a teaching degree, though I am working towards one.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I will charge $25-$50 per hour, based on a sliding scale format. Meaning that I charge based on what you feel you can afford.
Lessons would range between 1-3 hours.
