    Frequently asked questions

I would like to start with a conversation with mum/dad about the player to help me understand where they are at with their development right now and what they would like to work towards. Once that is clear I like to set up a syllabus of work, usually in 6 week blocks but I'm flexible. From past experience I find what works best is 6 sessions either once or twice a week, then a break of similar length so the player can implement what they've learned with their team and practice their new skills in match environments, then a return for another block of training. This is what I have found is most effective in player development but I am of course happy to work around your schedule and needs.

I have been coaching professionally in Europe for the past 4 years and I hold the European equivalent to a USSF C Licence. I have recently moved to the states and am looking to establish myself again, my day job here is working for the Juventus soccer academy in Potomac.

I charge $50 for a 1 hour session. I find that as one to one coaching is quite intense, players rarely benefit from a session that's any longer than that and for particularly young players (6yrs and less) a 45min session is plenty. I also offer the following discounts.

    ***Discounts***

    - Block of 6 sessions - 15% off

    - Sibling discount - 50% off sessions for a sibling if booked in an adjacent timeslot. $60 for a session if both children can train together in one session.

    - Group discount - rates for a group training session on enquiry, depending on the number of players and requirements.

I am a soccer obsessive and was kicking a soccer ball before I could walk (my Dad is also a soccer fanatic). I have always been immersed in sports and as I achieved more and more in amateur soccer I finally reached a point 4/5 years ago where I could quit my office job and move into full time professional coaching.

Boys & girls aged from 3 all the way up to adult teams. I have worked with players who have zero experience of playing soccer and are just learning the game for the first time and I have trained players at the elite level of youth football, signed to the academies of EPL clubs. I am just as comfortable coaching either end of the scale and everything in between.

There's too many to pick from! The result I see again and again in my players and still makes me feel as proud and fulfilled now as it did with the first group I ever coached is the impact of self-belief. Young players are often far more capable that they know, getting a player to believe in their own ability and have the confidence to take control of games and be assertive in match situations improves their performance instantly and most importantly it makes the kids so happy and proud of themselves. When a player comes to a sessions and tells me about the awesome turn they did in their match at the weekend, a turn which we'd been working on together for the past couple of weeks, that's what really puts a smile on my face.

Book 1 trial session with a few trainers first, then move forward with the person your child feels most comfortable with and who you believe they can learn the most from.

    - What their child's strengths and weaknesses are, what they would like to improve. - Any long term goals they have for their soccer.
