Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Begin with a conversation with the player(s) and parent(s) to see what the player has done, what the expectations are, maybe set some goals (if player is advanced enough). During the lesson: assess what level the player is: technically, physically, mentally through skills, drills and questions. After lesson speak again with player and parent and revisit the goals and expectations and make sure they are obtainable, and add any additional help if needed.

How did you get started teaching?
I was a player myself that started playing volleyball late (HS) and realized how much I loved the sport. Once in college, I found out just how much my HS coaches didn't know how to guide us (to no fault of their own) and train us from the ground. That's when I knew what type of coach I wanted to be. I teach from the ground up! I change the way players anylize the game. I give the answers to their questions then I begin to ask them to breakdown for me what their body and mind are doing so that they are able to adjust in game situations.
