About
I have over 20 years of coaching experience working with both male and female players of all ages ranging from 8 to over 50. I teach skills using the motor skill learning approach followed by the USA Volleyball Coaching Accreditation Program.
My experience and expertise range from teaching the fundamental skills to beginners in the sport as well as advanced techniques and tactics to the more experienced and elite players. Players learn correct armswing mechanics for the overhand serve that enable them to progress to the more advanced jump float and jump spin serves. Similarly, sound attacking armswing and approach fundamentals enable players to develop powerful spikes. Ball control skills in terms of forearm pass, overhand pass and setting are taught in an easy to learn fashion. Game-like principles drive the process by which skills are taught and how the player learns each skill.
Volleyball skill specific warm ups are used to maximize the time spent learning. I use a ball cart with at least 16 Molten volleyballs suited to the gender and age of the player being trained to again maximize the time spent learning and minimize the time chasing balls. Video analysis using the Dartfish software package is available including StroMotion.
