Natalie's English And/or Literature Lessons

Hi there! My name is Natalie Orga, and I am a junior at Gettysburg College! I am proficient in english, english literature, writing (creative, professional, or academic), history, art, music, and more. I have been an avid reader and writer since the first grade, and I have written for various newspapers growing up such as the Coastal Point paper and the Nautilus. In addition, I am an award-winning writer, having authored two books, and dozens of published, acclaimed short stories and poems. I have also won awards in fine arts (I specialize in drawing, painting, and charcoal, but can work with any material). I am also a first-place award winning vocal soloist, and have been in choir and music classes since pre-school.

Although I am young (21 years old), I have a lot of experience in working with children; my mother is a teacher and I've spent my entire life either being taught by her, or helping her out in the classroom. She teaches at Newark Center for Creative Learning School, a progressive education school that champions hands-on, interactive learning and consistently produces active and eager students. This philosophy of fostering a love of learning in my students and encouraging passions is deeply ingrained in my teaching style. I have also worked for my College's El Centro program, in which I tutored first and second graders in Gettysburg's Hispanic community, which was a rewarding and educational experience!

I've taught classes for children from kindergarten through college, in all subjects ranging from history, science, and writing to bookbinding and painting. I am also a PLA (Peer Learning Assisstant) to my Book History professor, an advanced English methods and theory course at Gettysburg College. In addition, I have worked as the student Conservation worker at Gettysburg College's library, the Mussleman library, for two years, and have had two internships in the Research and Instruction department as well as the Special Collections department.
