All-in-one Artisan
About
Hi, there! I'm Julie, an Elementary educator-turned-Art teacher in my 16th year in the field. Working with young students, it's imperative that I myself go through the process of a project before they begin; finding out what works well and what doesn't. A wealth of patience is vital and encouraging one to walk away from their work and come back with a fresh perspective is necessary. Us big kids aren't all that different from the little guys, so applying these same practices, in my mind, just makes sense.
Before we get started; I'd like to listen to you first. I want to learn more about your skill level and what you would like to achieve. The teacher-student dynamic is more than just the transfer of knowledge, it's a relationship of sorts. I'd like to ensure that my abilities, personality, and approach are a good fit. If this sound's like a plan to you, let's chat!
I have a passion for the arts. I'm obsessed with crafting. I love ruminating over something until it's executed just so. I enjoy teaching and watching the process of learning unfold before my eyes. For me, this is a marriage of both professional skills and personal interests.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I'd first like to talk through e-mail, or over the phone; whichever works best for you, to see if where you are and what you would like to achieve could be met through my services. I would like to unpack the time, duration, and resource requirements you think it would take to get to your end-product to ensure my services can fulfill your expectations.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My background is in education. I have a Bachelors of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I have a Masters in Art Education. I'm certified in Pennsylvania for Elementary/Early Childhood Education and in Delaware I'm certified in Elementary Education and Art Education (K-12). Currently, I teach art to students in an elementary school, so teaching art concepts is something I do on a daily basis.
