About
Hello all art lovers !
My name is Delona and I had been painting all my life, to be a little bit more precise, since I was four years old.
I really believe that we all can create and that there are no bounaries for learning how to paint unless you build them ! Art is therapy, art is joy, art teaches us how to learn about ourselves, art makes us better !
Because I believe in the Power of Art , I had been teaching it for as long as I can remember : Here, in the US and also in Europe.
I am a classical trained artist but I embrace all types of art and I am enthusiastic in teaching drawing, painting, photography and all kind of mediums , from mixed media, encaustic, acrylics, oils, pastels, digital photo .....there is no limit to what we can create together. I hold a MS in Education and my art is purchased internationally . Upon request , I can send my artist CV.
You can find me on instagram as @artanddesign or check my artist page on FB www.facebook.com/DelonaSeserman.Artist/ also my website www.delonasesermanart.com
I love seeing the joy of creating in my students eyes !

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A new relationship, in this case, teacher-student requires a process to asset the other one in order to know how can the partnership can be successful. So, as a teacher, I love learning about what motivates my student to want to learn and what I can offer her/him in order to achieve their dreams.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I had been teaching Art and foreign languages to a large spectrum of age groups for nearly 30 years.
I love the process of helping, sharing and I strongly believe that teaching is a two ways process. I share my knowledge with my students and they help me to become a better teacher by educating myself about their dreams.
A funny thing about me: sometimes if I get really carried away with a painting, I confuse my cup of coffee with my paint water cup! But don't worry: you can really achieve beautiful artworks using coffee or tea!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing system varys depending on a variety of factors : what do the student wants to achieve by taking my classes ? ; is my student a beginner or an advance one ? ; am I traveling for the lessons or is the student willing to come to my studio ?
I am dedicated to accomodate anyone willing to create !
How did you get started teaching?
Oh, well .... I always loved teaching . I strongly believe that education is essential in living a quality life. Than, I love sharing and know that the desire of improving ourselves creates respect and better persons.
I don't believe in the statement that : " I can't draw a line " !!!!! We all can learn how to tap on our creativity ( I assure you that you have one even if you don't believe so ). I love teaching how you can recognize creative impulses and how important is to embrace them and discover your own potential .Learning and accepting that you can create, opens a new road to self discovery and from here to a better self esteem .
What types of students have you worked with?
As I mentioned before, I love teaching any age group and I work with people that never paint before or they feel that their creativity needs a bust.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently gave a demo. on textures to a senior group.
I really loved that the audience was willing, at my advice, to pass around the samples I painted and feel the texture of the surfaces by touching the smooth surfaces as well as the ones more raised or rough and compare the feeling they experiment with.
Art is not only a 100 % visual experience is also a way of applying the other senses: touch, smell, hearing, and yes, sometimes even taste!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that the teacher has an enthusiastic attitude and is determined to work with you in building the skills you want to achieve.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
A student needs to be honest with himself and be clear with what he/she needs to achieve by taking lessons.
Do you need to learn how to paint a tree? Why? Is it because you always admire how artists do it or because you love to be in nature?
