Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with new students I do take some time to get to know each student to understand their level of understanding of photography. I believe having a foundation about the basics of aperture what type of camera is best for what settings is a good starting point. From there I do like to take some images and see their understanding of their camera and then from there I move into editing software tips and tricks.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 10 years of experience in photography and videography and software editing in Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, Premier Pro and after effects.
I have captured over 100 weddings, Portrait sessions & commercial real estate.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching because it wasn't really something that was available locally. So I decided to create a course on photography and videography.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with teens, children and adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
That's hard to choose because there's so many great ones. But my most recent wedding was a blast!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice for any student starting photography is if you love it capture it. And don't let your camera intimidate you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If this is something they really want to do. Photography can sometimes be Time consuming. But if there's something they truly love they will be eager to let it consume their time.
