Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find that while teaching students, you come to realize each has their own method in learning, whether it be visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic. Each student responds best to a different method of teaching. Auditory learners will absorb information best after playing it back to the teacher, while visual learners understand and remember things by sight. My goal when introducing a new student to my lessons, is to talk with them about past lessons they've had and what draws them to the guitar; and with this discover what method of learning best suits them
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Well I've been a professional live and studio musician for 12 years. This work entailed substituting for guitarists in other bands, which required flexibility, drive, and the ability to learn quickly as there were times when the set lists were entirely new.

How did you get started teaching?
I started out teaching my friend in middle school, he was learning guitar for one of his school projects. After discovering that I have a knack for teaching, and I have stern but congenial and patient personality, I decided to start putting flyers up around the school for paid lessons. I got to the point where I was teaching three students consistently for close to a year.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students from the ages of 8-12, to 45-60. In the past, I've taught high school and college students ranging from 15-25 years old.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I've been recently invited to take place in a guitar competition in central Florida, called Guitarmageddon 2017; where 5 guitarists from around Florida are chosen to compete in this event.
