About

There's nothing like being able to create your own music, whether it's just playing an instrument or writing your own music. With Musician's Addition, we have many different ways and resources to help you learn your instrument and to help strengthen your music abilities - such as interactive games. We also offer a practice rewards program to help motivate to practice at home. Earn & win prizes! With Musician's Addition, we want to see you achieve your goals and to be able to play what you want to play, so we do everything we can to make sure that happens! We offer both online & in-person lessons.

My name is Reesa and I teach flute and alto saxophone. I started learning the flute in 1998 and wanted to expand to jazz, so I learned the alto sax in 2002 (even though there is a jazz flute, the band I wanted to join didn't accept flutes). I believe that everyone should have the chance to learn music, if they wish to do so, so I started up a Youtube channel that could help a person get started learning. It's been great and has helped many people learn - but you just can't beat private or group lessons; I just wanted an option for those who can't afford it. I love seeing someone learn music and the way they light up when they are able to play. It's like watching magic.

Frequently asked questions

Before our first lesson, I like to know your music experience - how long you've been playing, if you have taken lessons before, if you've played with any groups, etc. I also want to hear your goals - are you learning to play as a hobby, do you want to join a band, are you looking to be a professional? And I would like to know your favorite genres - that way we can keep things exciting and play a fun piece. If you're into rock, you might get board pretty quickly playing classical all the time. Knowing all this will better help me prepare for our lessons.

I will have you sign a terms and conditions, that way we are both clear on payments and what happens with late or missed sessions.

I also send a pack with finger charts, scales, and other practice resources.

And we'll get you into our practice rewards program so you can earn prizes just for practicing!

I attended Colorado State University-Pueblo in 2008 for music education. I only have 2 years of college education for music. I am not going to lie, I don't have much experience with giving lessons to a person in real time (I mainly do online video courses), but I am passionate on teaching and I believe we can still learn a lot together. I started giving lessons December of 2021 to online students and I have an in-person student starting January of 2022.

$30/60 minute lesson

I wanted to teach music so bad. I started teaching through Youtube and then decided I wanted to teach private lessons, so I started through Fiverr, just to gain some experience.

I've worked with different age ranges - youngest was 9. So far, I have only worked with beginners. Some knew how to read the basics of sheet music and knew a few notes, some knew nothing.

I get very excited whenever a new student wants to learn an instrument. Teaching music is my passion & I'm doing everything I can to give different options to learn - creating online courses, offering videos via Youtube, private lessons both online & in-person.

Most recently, I did a flute giveaway to help someone obtain a flute who didn't have one before. I'm hoping to do more giveaways and donations.

The biggest thing is to make sure you click with your teacher. Learning an instrument should be fun and something you look forward to. If your teacher is knowledgable but happens to make you uncomfortable or doesn't listen to what you want to learn, then you're taking away from your experience. Find someone who is knowledgable, fun, listens to you, and someone who feels like a friend. The right teacher will make all the difference.

Ask them about the passions in music and with the instrument. See why they like teaching. Ask them what they do to make the lessons fun & what they suggest to help motivate you to practice.
