My greatest joy is assisting a student pioner and succeeding in their aviation goals and being apart of their journey. No task is too small not too big. In my 2+ decades of aviation experience, I have learned that no two people are the same and special attention and patience are needed to assist those achieve a passion. Watching them evolve and transform from a pilot to an aviator gives me the most happiness.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I perform TSA background checks for all students seeking Private, Instrument, or Multi training. I can accept US citizens and those non US citizens who have successfully passed a TSA training approval request.
I use a structured syllabus for all my students so they know where they are in their training at all times.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an ATP pilot and hold all the instructor certificates. I have worked for several different flight schools over the 14+ years instructing holding both Chief and asst. chief duties. I have personally trained and passed over 1000 students for various certificates and/or ratings.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students aging from 10-93 years of age, with all different backgrounds. I speak a little Spanish and also ASL.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Best is to speak with or formally meet each other face-to-face. It is very important that the student is comfortable with the instructor and vice versa. Do your homework and be comfortable with your decision. I am always here to help, even if you decide to train elsewhere.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Budgeting is very important. You don't want to run out of funds mid way thru. Feeling comfortable with a certain type of plane is also a huge part. Is this a hobby for you or are you looking to train for a career in aviation? These questions and more should be discussed to allow us to figure out the best and most financially sound route for you to decide on.
