Rachel Miner

My name is Rachel! I have been tutoring math, levels super beginner through calculus 1 since 2018, both in group and one-on-one settings! I am also a violist who has toured throughout North America and Europe playing chamber music and orchestra. I have degrees from Pepperdine University and Western University (Ontario). I have taught violin, viola, chamber music, music theory, and aural skills at all levels. I also have a degree in Hispanic Studies.

The reason I got really great at math was because of incredible tutors that helped me in ways that the public school system could not! Likewise with music and Spanish! I love being able to pass on that knowledge and those skills to students. Math, music, and languages all build upon things you learn in days, months, and even years prior! Because of this, I emphasize finding any gaps in knowledge in order to ensure that all fundamentals are solid! I also prioritize independent learning so that the student can continue working without me once the session is over.
