About
Ive enjoyed a long and distnguished music career- 13 years as a freelance touring guitarist with several multi-platinum major label artists, a universally-known nationally syndicated late-night TV show, and a multiple award-winning touring theater organization. More recently, I have become a well-established composer of original music for film, tv, and events. That , combined with my world-class musical pedigre as a grqnt recipient to study music composition under world-renowned compose-conductor Bela Selage has given me an unerstanding of music, world-class playing abilities , and exposure to bleeding-edge science relating to music pedagogy which i employ in my work with students. I am a multiple award-winning instructor whose workshops, clinics, and lectures have beenhighly attended and well-received by some of the countrys most prestigious music cnservatories. I now choose to stay locally and teach one-on-one lessons to students of all ages and musical ability.
As one to whom music has been the driving force of his life, and life passion, it is really satisfying to see a student become a formidable musical force. I had the good fortune to have been given musical instruction through a foundation grant whcih enabled me to have had a fun and fulfilling musical career. Having given- up touring in order to concentrate on composing music for film and television, I have taken an interest in helping young people develop a life-enriching relationship with music.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$150 mo for one-hour lessons weekly . 4 lessons per month. Every third month student will receive 5 lessons for $150.
Students do not pay for lessons. They pay for my time that I reserve for them at the same day/time every week. Students can choose wherther or not to avail themselves of those times , or not. In the event student cannot make it to their appointed lesson time, one make-up lesson per month will be granted at a mutually-convenient dare/time.
How did you get started teaching?
Extra money as a college music student
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 7 years old, and as old as 83 years old. I have had great success helping high school students wanting to get into music conservatories. My specialty is teaching adult weekend professional musicians who are stuck in a rut of playing rock and blues, and want to expand their competency to more sophisticated , evolved music, such as jazz, classical, and progressive music. I also to seminars and workshops in music theory, composition, music for film, tv, and gaming, and Pro Tools music software training.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I shot a 77 this afternoon at a fairly difficult golf course.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would strongly urge a student to inquire about music lessons using guitar as your applied instrument, as opposed to inquiring about guitar lessons. Regardless of the instument one plays, an understanding of music is worth more than a thousand hours of playing an instrument .
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Everyone is different . Evryone will have a different reason for wanting to play music . Speak from the heart to potential teacher about your motivations and goals. when you find your teacher, you will know it.
