About

I have been a Counselor, Baseball Coach, Baseball Director, Director & Owner of Baseball Camps since 1968. In 1985 I started instructing youngsters in the area with the proper mechanics of hitting a baseball.

My hitting technique is most closely associated with rotational hitting, which is hitting against your front leg, not to be confused with linear hitting which is hitting or shifting onto your front leg.

Regardless of the level of play whether it is T-Ball, Little League, Girls Softball, High School Baseball or Softball and Collegiate levels, athletes who are taught and learn the proper hitting techniques will be recognized as having outstanding baseball fundamentals by those who know and understand the game.

I have instructed and coached thousands of athletes, many of whom have received sports scholarships to play Baseball. Some have gone on to play professional Baseball such as :

Bernie Williams (NY Yankees)

Jon Alexander (KC Royals)

Mel Stottlemyre Jr. (KC Royals)

Todd Stottlemyre (Toronto Blue Jays)

Brad Ausmus (Houston Astros)

Shawn Brown (Detroit Tigers)

Tim Adkins (Toronto Blue Jays)

George Sandel (NY Mets)

Zach Minor (Detroit Tigers)

Andy Abad (Boston Redsox)

Roy Silver (St. Louis Cardinals)

Pitche Balet (Seattle Mariners)

Brian Jeroloman (Toronto BlueJays)

Robbie Morrison (KC Royals)

Travis Bailey (St. Louis Cardinals)

Chuck Jeroloman (Boston Red Sox)

Brandon Welch (NY Mets)

Nick Marrell (Texas Rangers)

Phil is great. My son has been going to Phil for several years now. I have been to several other batting coaches prior. Phil knows how to analyze and correct a swing better than any of the other coaches that I’ve been to. Actually, better than anyone I’ve ever known. I myself have learned so much about hitting from Phil. My son was one of the top hitters on his team last year thanks to Phil. Now other team members are going to bat like a pro with Phil for their lessons. The batting lessons are also the most reasonably priced lessons out of any batting instructor in Palm Beach County from my experience. I would recommend and encourage anyone who wants to learn more about hitting and have their player improve their hitting skills to go see Phil at Bat like a pro. You will not be disappointed.

Coach Phil offers direct, no-nonsense instruction to both my kids, and both have improved their swings tremendously over the last 6 months. Phil develops a positive rapport with his students. I look forward to continuing working with Coach Phil for the foreseeable future

I have been teaching baseball at camps for 13 years.  Then a father on my team asked me to teach his son and he would pay me $10.00 per hour so I accepted it.  Starting charging other people $12.00 per hour in 1985.  Now charging $60.00 35 years later. Worked with some major and minor leagueres before they became pros.  Love working with young children and seeing them imrove and play high school and college.
