How did you get started teaching?
For years while working as a professional photographer I was regularly asked where and when I was teaching. After shifting my focus from assignments worldwide I opened and studio in Sarasota and decided to answer the question. I teach at my studio in downtown Sarasota.
What types of students have you worked with?
I taught a wide range of students from beginner to advanced.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A particularly fun teaching event is a recent one on DYI lighting for studio still-life. In this unique course, I show how to make beautiful images using things you can buy at the hardware store that are inexpensive and effective.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look at their website to get an idea of their level of professionalism, and of course read reviews on their Google Bussines page and Website.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Define for yourself what your need and goal is as well as your level of proficiency then match that to the offering by the photographer
