Lawrence P Bestmann, Ph.D. Photography
About
I have been a photographer for over seven decades. I started in high school, where I was photo editor of our daily newspaper and our yearbook. I evolved from the initial, chemical darkroom to the digital lightroom over 20 years ago. I have been published in newspapers in the middle east, the Washington Post and a National Geographic book. I was official photographer for the City of Daphne, Alabama, the United States Sports Academy, and the World Acrobatics Society.
I love to shoot pictures of subjects that are inherently beautiful and interesting. I print the outstanding pictures.
There is a continuing challenge to capture fine images, edit them as needed and make them outstanding. I am happy if I can do this at least once a month as I cull the many images I have taken.
My enthusiasm for photography is contagious. I hope to pass on the love I have for it, to my students.
