About
As a portrait photographer, I specialize in portrait photography. High School Seniors and Groups...on the BEACH! It takes an eye for detail to design a beautiful family portrait. I can help you learn the do's and don'ts of group/family photography, posing and customer satisfaction. If you're trying to create your own family portrait OR you're interested in how to grow and run your photography business, I can definitely help you. (I will NOT teach you how to work your camera, photoshop, etc. So, NO technical support...it's not my interest). Do you need inspiration, guidance, support or even someone to just LOOK at your photography and critique it so you can learn and grow? I'm your gal. :)
Do you want to learn COMPOSITION? I'm your gal. Learning the Rules of Composition through assignments based on each rule would train your photographic eye to 'see' the endless possibilities right before you. Each assignment is fun, challenging and straigtforward.
I enjoy creating beautiful photographs whether it's a family portrait or a landscape or a great candid, photography is my passion and I hope to inspire others through my work and attitude and instruction. I love to critique images, from the rule of thirds to the rules of composition to the lighting techniques to the artistic enhancements to the feelings they evoke, every image is full of possibilities. Helping others develop his/her own creative eye just floats my boat.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We meet in a convenient location and discuss what he/she needs. I do NOT teach camera nor photoshop specifics. I DO teach how to run a portrait studio, scheduling procedures, posing and general practices. (For instance, I started offering wedding photography after spending about five hours getting briefed by a wedding photographer and through his inspiration and guidance, I was able to add weddings to by bottom line. Just having someone to talk with about the process is a great help).
COMPOSITION: I DO teach the Rules of Composition. How to 'see' an image before it's created will be taught through Assignments, Critique and Photo Safaris.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ive been a photographer for 28 years. I LOVE it. Now, not as many portrait sessions due to living in two states, but I'll never quit... I started my business in 1988 and photographed 14 high school seniors my first year. The business grew to just under 500 seniors a year, a substantial part of the business in my area. I KNOW how to grow a business. If you're coachable, I can help you, too.
COMPOSITION: You just need to learn to 'see' it. My first photography class way back in 1985 taught me the rules of composition and how to practice them and when to throw out the rules and just follow my instinct. I'll share this information with you, too.
