Safety is my number one priority. I’m an a FAA certified flight instructor (CFI, CFII) and an experienced pilot with an airline background. I teach to airline (part 121) standards. So whether you are looking for career training or recreational flying, you will be trained to the highest standards. Please note, I am a one man show with much lower expenses and a really nice, well maintained Cessna 172. Flight training is expensive, and because of the risks involved , I believe an experienced instructor not just out of flight school is advisable.
I also have a strong background in education. Besides my FAA certifications, I have a batchelors degree in Education from the University of Maine. I always teach in a positive way with Safty as my number one priority. I stay on task and follow a traing syllabus.
Beware - You will be required to study!!

First and foremost, flying is my passion. Being able to fly everyday is an awesome way to live. I love to see the satisfaction as a student progresses through the milestones of solo, and then passing a flight test.
I have been taking flight lessons at a local flight school for the past month or so. I have not gotten very far with them and they keep switching flight instructors on me. I decided to try Ken out. Before ken would fly with me, he insisted on 3 ground lessons. Honestly, I learned more in those three lessons than in all the time I was at the other place. He really knows how to teach. I look forward to getting my private license with him.
I was a little nervous at first but always wanted to learn to fly. Ken put my mind at ease immediately with his extensive knowledge of flying an dhow the plane works. I am still a beginner but could not imagine a better flight instructor than Ken!
Usually the first half of the lesson is spent on the ground going over homework and briefing for the upcoming flight. After the flight is complete, we debrief. The next step is to prepare for the upcoming lesson and review the tasks that need to be accomplished.
I am a Certified FAA flight instructor and a Certified Instrument flight instructor. I have my commercial licence with a Multi engine rating. I have a Bachelors Degree from the University of Maine focused on experiential education and environmental sciences.
Please call for pricing due to many varied needs of each student.
I have always enjoyed teaching, I come from a family of teachers and business owners.
I have worked with all types of people with varied backgrounds from the young adults preparing to go into the airlines , to airline pilot needing a brush up and wanting to fly general aviation. My current students range in age from 11 years old to 80.
I just Soloed a student on his 16 birthday, as he landed, a small gathering of his friends and family were on the ground with signs congratulating him.
Choose an instructor that is passionate about his students, not someone who is using teaching as a stepping stone to their own career.
Getting your pilots license requires a big commitment. You must be willing to do the ground work , study, study study. Consistency of lessons will have a huge impact on your results.
