Hello! My Name is Julio Perera, my artist name is Julio strings. I am a profesional musician of 40 plus years and I am currently a music/guitar/bass teacher of 15 plus years. I take pride in raising up the next generation of musicians to come. I make sure to make them knowledgeable and skillful to set them up for a successful music journey.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin by asking them to bring a notebook and their guitar. If they do not have a guitar at the moment I lend them mine during the lesson. I motivate them aftre each lesson to practice at home so the ext lesson may be effective.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a 30 year background of music education passed on by family. I went to may music schools in my country ad studied with some of the biggest music prodigies in Cuba. I have been teaching guitar for 15 years. I specialize in music theory, solfeggio, harmonies, accoustic guitar, and coteporary electric guitar.

I charge $40 hourly per lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a kid listening to american music and from there decided I wanted to be a guitarist. After years of playing I decided I wanted to pass on my gift to the next generation and began teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all type of students. All ages, all levels, and all styles of interest.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am proud of my current student Kevin. He has grown to be an amazing guitarist. Seeing him play makes me feel extrememely proud.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell my student to just go for it. You never know till you go and find out.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would tell them to think through their level of commitmet to learn because it does take alot of time, dedication and discipline. Its a slowly but surely proccess and if their not certain of their passion it might hinder their process of becoming the best they can be.
