I started my artistic career at a young age. I am a Florida certified art teacher.  I have a Bachelors in Fine Arts in painting and graphic design from the University of Miami. I also obtained a Masters in Science in Art Education from Florida International University. I have been working for Miami Dade County Public Schools for 16 years. I also taught art for a year at Sarasota County Schools.

I teach drawing, painting and portfolio classes.  The painting classes involve the use of oil and acrylic paints. The drawing classes requires the use of graphite pencils, color pencils and pastels.

I have a passion for art since I was very young. I like to give my students my knowledge so they may develop their own style and art appreciation.

I love to see the students satisfaction and increase on their self steam due to the art process. I also allow art to be an asset to students with autism by making a different in their cognitive development.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I start by allowing the student to draw or paint and I evaluate his/her artistic skills and how he/she sees. 

I enable the student to develop his or her style while learning the art process.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts in Painting and Graphic Design from the University of Miami.  I also have a Masters in Science in Art Education from Florida International University.

I have a teaching certificate from the Florida Department of Education.

I have been working for Miami Dade County Public Schools as an art teacher for 16 years. I have taught k-12 and adult education in the visual arts.

I also taught art for Sarasota County Schools for a year.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Pricing is on individual cases. It depends on commute distances or if the student comes to my place.

A minimum of 4- one hour classes a month are required. Classes are paid monthly at the beginning of each month. Attendance is expected according to the stablished schedule between the student and me.

I offer discount for siblings.

Note: I am available  Mon,Tue, Wed, Th 4:15pm-7:00pm

                               Fri 4:15pm-6:00pm

                               Sat 9am-11am

Summer hours : Mornings 9:00 am-6:00pm M-F

How did you get started teaching?

I started by giving out private art lessons when I was around 19 years old. After that I pursued my art teaching career into the visual arts and I work for the Miami Dade County.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked all grades level k-12 including adults. I also teach children with autism.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Wynwood Art.

I went to the Coconut Grove Festival and the South Miami Art Festival lately.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The student should relate to the artist work, technique and style and the student should allows to be coachable. My classes are formal studio art classes.

I strongly believe that a good communication is important. I am open to hear my students inquires and I will guide them  through the process of producing the artwork to its completion.
