Hello My name is Ralph Notaro and I have been making a living as a photographer for 23 years. I have been contracted by international agencies such as Getty Images, Shutterstock, Wire Image, The Mega Agency, Splash News and Pictures, The NY Post, and many more. I was the contracted photographer for Hard Rock International and many of their properties and casinos including The Guitar Hotel in Hollywood, FL. I shot their marketing photos, their concert photos, and most of the events for these properties. I have taught many students about photography, editing, photoshop, camera settings etc. Mostly through this platform and with students at FAU and other south Florida Schools. I can teach you as well. Hired Ralph for private photography lessons for me and sometimes my husband when he can attend. Our first lesson with Ralph was great and very informative. He also looked at my camera settings and found a couple of my settings that were wrong for my sports photography. The next day I shot a soccer game and WOW!, the one lesson really made a difference. Will be having several more classes with him. He knows his stuff and explains it well.

I am very happy that I chose Ralph Notaro to help me learn more about my camera and my new lens. He was very patient and thorough in describing various settings I was not aware of and gave me some good ideas for shoots I have planned in the near future. When he left I had a better understanding and confidence in moving from Automatic to the Manual mode. A second lesson is planned and I have an interesting assignment to do which will be studied by Ralph before we get together again. An easy recommendation.

First we discuss what they want out of the class. Then we discuss the gear they have, and then we put together an individualized program for each student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been shooting my whole life and have shot for the Top News and Wire agencies in the world. I have covered some of the biggest news and entertainment stories over the past 20 years.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure they are ging to teach what you want and not by a book. Photography is hands on and should never be tught from a book.
