The bottom line is, I use your favorite songs as the best vehicles for teaching you the technical aspects of playing. I’ve been teaching this way for almost half a century.
As an unexpected side effect of teaching this way is what led to a second career where I was a transcriber and editor writing out the tablature books for the recording artists. I did this for all of the main music publishers and guitar magazines.
I would encourage you to take a vantage of this very unique skill because there’s no one else in South Florida who can teach at this level

Colgan takes the time to understand the students musical goals, influences and skill level. He then takes that information and develops a personalized lesson plan specifically for the student.

Amazing results!!! I cant believe his incredible knowledge and this unique approach. I was also really impressed when I saw two bookshelves, each 6 ft tall, full of books he edited and transcribed for almost every recording artist I have ever heard of, for guitar and bass.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Finding your point A and point B which HAVE to be factored in to get you the most direct results. Only the most experienced instructors have the versatility to adapt to each individual students and it's that adaptability which will save your from wasting a lot of time on things you need while focusing on what is relevant.
When a teacher tries to convince you that their magic method will work for anyone, they are being lazy and you aren't really receiving individual lessons. Those are just lower quality group lesson for the same price as quality individual lessons.
Question: can you name one excellent or even a good guitarist who actually achieved their skill as the result of following a step-by-step method?
