Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find out what the student's goals are. I devise a lesson plan that is personalized to that student. Then I work with the student in a low pressure/ high encouragement environment, providing learning multimedia for each lesson.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have several college-level music theory classes. I took lessons from the guitarist who taught Bruce from Racer X. I have taken many, many personal lessons myself.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lessons are priced at $25 per lesson. Lesson length is usually from 30 - 45 minutes.
How did you get started teaching?
I remember how I struggled with learning what I wanted on the guitar. I started to think about what I would do to improve and making learning easier. Then I began by explaining concepts to my friends. Helping them grow their musical understanding. From there it has been an obvious choice to try to help as many people as I can.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
