About
I am an international artist with my work featured in private and corporate collections. I have exhibited locally and internationally winning awards locally and nationally. I work with a limited palette.
If you go to my photos you will see a painting of a lady with a black hat. It is a copy of a master, one of America's first impressionist. Titled: The Black Hat by Frank Benson. I have taught students to paint this or any subject they pick to paint in 8 lessons. Please google the artist and painting so you can compare results.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?

PAINTING REALISM
DRAWING
ABSTRACT ART
What medium do they prefer?
OILS
ACRYLICS
PASTEL
WATERCOLOR
PAINTING REALISM LESSONS.......Using oils for this process, I ask the student to pick a photograph they would like to paint. I will teach the student to duplicate the photograph onto a 16x20 canvas. First two lessons is learning the color wheel. The student will make their own color wheel on a 8x11 canvas. Two reasons I teach the color wheel, color will guide the student in the creating process and they will only work with 7 colors saving them money on supplies. I will teach the student to draw the photograph onto the canvas with the blocking technique. This technique was used by all the old masters, Leonardo De Vinci, Micheal Angelo, Rafeal and many more master's of arts. The student dose not have to know how to draw. But, if the student continues blocking in time they will learn to draw and not use the blocking technique. Unless they choose to do murals. I will teach the student how to do a wash and lastly start the painting process. Completing a painting in 8 lessons. Using this process a student can paint what they wish. If the student chooses to continue I will give a list of supplies needed.
DRAWING LESSONS.......Using drawing pencil, I will teach hatching, cross hatching, shading, perspective and composition. I also offer 8 lessons all supplies included. The student can pick a subject also. At the end of the 8 lessons the student can choose to continue. I will give the student a list of supplies needed.
ABSTRACT ART.......Using oils or acrylics, I will teach color theory, color balance and composition. I also teach different techniques used for abstract art. There are many and unlimited. I will encouraged the student to come up with unusual supplies and original techniques during the 8 lessons. I also offer 8 lessons with some supplies included, a canvas 16x20, paint, and brushes. At the end of the 8 lessons the student can choose to continue. I will give the student a list of supplies needed.
PASTELS OR WATERCOLOR.....I teach once the student is advanced in the above techniques.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Self Taught
Painting for the past 28 years.
The ability to paint what I see or imagine.
If you go to my photos you will see a painting with a lady with a black hat. It is a copy of a master. One of America's first impressionist. Titled: The Black Hat, by: Frank Benson. If you go to museums in europe you will see art students painting in the museum's. They are copying the paintings of the master's in the museum's. A great process when learning to paint is to copy a photograph or a painting. This is an example of what I will teach a student in 8 lessons. The student can pick the subject this is just an example. Google the artist and painting so you can compare.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
30.00 dollars per hour
I offer 8 lessons 1 hour per lesson with all supplies included. It gives the student the opportunity to decide if they really want to create without purchasing art supplies they will never use again.
If the student continues I will give a list of suppies they will need.
How did you get started teaching?
I taught myself to paint, draw, sculpture and create what I desire. I realize it was an easy process I could teach others. So I started in 1996 teaching art at Assitant Living Facitities
2000 Paul Newman's Camp for terminally ill children.
2003 Private schools through-out New England.
From 1996 until present time teaching group and private art lessons.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages as young as 2 years of age to 90 years of age. Art is in everyone and for everyone. Art is everywhere. A table, a soda machine, a street light was designed by someone.
There are no limits.
I found the elderly and the very young never say I can't do to. They just love to create. They either have no limitations or have let go of any limitations. It makes me smile.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have exhibited my work in many shows and galleries. To many to choose. Art is my passion.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It is wonderful to learn the process. Best to feel what is in you. Let your intution guide you. Make sure the teacher can guide you in your chosen medium. Ask to see their art, dose the student like their work? What is the teachers process?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Art has no requirments or limitations. Passion for art will guide anyone.
What do they desire to create?
