What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start with something they are very familiar with. Starting with subject matter they are comfortable working on, allows me to guage where the skill level is and at what rate I cna begin to introduce more challenging techniques.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self taut. I've spent the better portion of my life expolring and experimenting in different art styles and mediums.
Books are cool. But I'm a big believer in you learn more by 'doing' and immersing yourself.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always taught on some level. but it was after having been published in comics a few times that I had been approached at conventions with more frequncy.
It had also been a very common question at panels and workshops.
So after taking some time to organize how/where I could accomadate potential students, I began teaching private lessons a little over a year ago at my personal studio in miami.
I am also an instructor at THE ART SHACK in miami.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with a pretty wide variaty of students.
Ages ranging from 8-48. At various skill levels and aptitudes.
