About this pro

I have been teaching English as a second language for the past six years - in Panama and the US.  I have also taught Marketing and Business Psychology at the university level so have a good understanding of Business and legal language terms and concepts.

My specialty is accent reduction.  I work many executives, people in the entertainment industry and others who are serious about speaking Engllish effectively with proper phrasing and intonation.

I love helping people overcome their challenges with accents and seeing their English skills improve.  I discovered a love of teaching later in life and find it a rewarding way to share my love of the language and abiiltiy to help others improve.

Great experience! Especially because of the professor Ted Lapekas, he was a mark for me and my husband when it comes down to learn English and proper speaking. Thanks to him and to his teaching method I had learned fast and today I’m able to get my master’s degree, to have conversations and critical thinking. Everybody should experience his teaching skills.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First:  Discuss what the students expectations are

Second:  Determine their level

Third:  Develop a course of action to help them acheive their goal.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have an MBA from Michigan State University.    Four years experience teaching at the universtiy level and four years  experience teaching in an ESL school here in Miami.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

For online English couses - $25/hour

For online Accent Reduction -  $30/hour

Pricing could vary depending on the student's individual situation or for number of lessons needed.

How did you get started teaching?

I taught Business Math at a Junior College in Michigan when I graduated from MSU.   I did it while I was looking for a job in my field of Marketing.   It took many years before I realized that teaching was where I should have stayed.

What types of students have you worked with?

From teenagers to senior citizens in my English classes and many top executives, a few television personalities, college professors and others seeking to improve their English accents.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

When looking for help with your accent ask the teacher what types of people they have helped.   Has the teacher helped others with similiar careers and native accents.
