Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
After the initial contact, we invite the parents for an in-person FREE 30 minutes consultation and site visit. In this meeting, the parents tour our facility, learn about our programs and operation. Once we determine the needs of the child, where needed, the student takes an evaluation test, which forms the basis for tutor match and customized lesson plan development. The parents can select the sessions times that match their availability and need.
Customized Lesson PlansWe administer placement tests for reading, math, and standardized tests (FSA, HSPT, SAT®, ACT®, etc.) and create customized lesson plans designed just for your child. Our tutors keep meticulous records, tracking your child’s progress consistently. We are transparent and allow you to remain up to date with every lesson. There is no bias and we present you the real account of your child's progress because in the end, these children represent our own hard work
Your child’s academic success is our #1 priority. That is why we ensure that your child gets the same tutor for each and every session.
When you pick from our list of session times, a qualified tutor is assigned to teach your child exclusively at those times, leading them through specific, individualized tasks, such as Course Assistance or Test Preparation. Sounds caring enough, right? Over time, you will notice that the child and tutor have developed a trusting relationship, sharing knowledge and improving academic scores.
Children are attention seekers. So, what could be better than personalized 1-on-1 tutoring
Our 1-on-1 tutoring gives your child the personal touch they need, but almost never get in a classroom environment. There is nothing more wonderful than individual help focused solely on your child for the entire tutoring session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A teacher is a guide, a navigator and a cheerleader. We know this fact very well and that’s why we succeed in helping your child achieve their Full Potential. Our tutors are not just experts in their subjects, but expert tutors as well! All of our tutors have undergone a rigorous selection process, were extensively trained, and continually apply the best tutoring practices to ensure that your child gets the best chance at academic improvement.

At FPLA, we believe that quality tutors are key to provide quality education. Therefore, we only hire candidates with high academic credentials and have prior tutoring experience. All the FPLA certified tutors have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above, experts in their subject areas, and have prior teaching/tutoring experience. On our roster, we have a healthy mix of educators with a doctoral, masters, bachelor, associate, and HS diploma. Most of the FPLA tutors are recent college graduates entering the workforce. Several of them are taking a gap year to prepare for professional degrees such as medical, dental, law, or postgraduate courses. Our tutors are young, energetic, and driven by the passion to teach. Besides being excellent tutors, they serve as a role model for the tutees. We believe that a good tutor makes a good student and vice versa.
