Brawling Buddha Yoga Studio
About
Our studio stands out because of our students. We are one big yoga family and I could not be happier than I am when I am at work, on my mat. Our teachers and our staff make our environment so non-intimidating, welcoming, and a place where you come in and be yourself while advancing your yoga practice. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned yogi, you will find a place in our space.
I love teaching, but most of all, I enjoy watching the moment where the lesson clicks and the students' faces light up with pride!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students are welcome in ALL of our classes. We usually assign an assistant teacher to work with new students in a group class so they get a little extra attention and do not feel discouraged in a room full of new faces.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified yoga teacher, and have been teaching since 2000. With over 17 years experience, I hold additional certificates in Sports Nutrition, Pilates, Silver Sneakers, as well as majoring in Special Education at FIU in Miami, FL. I am a mother of four daughters, and I feel that has helped me tremedously in not only understanding the female body and how to best serve it, but also has given me an insight on what it is to be a fully committed parent as well as fully committed to health and fitness.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We have many different packages, but generally our 5 class package is $75, our 8 class package is $100 and our unlimited is $125. These are all monthly packages.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching when I was 16 as a Johnny G Certified Spinning Instructor. Then I went on to pursue the other certifications, started to run distance, and moved away from Spinning and fully immersed myself in yoga.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students with special needs ages 2 through 25, and I have worked with students and people that are considered typically functioning ages 2- 95. We offer classes at nursing homes, elementary schools, health insurance companies, applicance repair companies and college campuses. We do it all!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We were recently named Studio Partner at the Wanderlust 108 festival in Miami. It was a wonderful experience.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you like the person. If you don't identify with their beliefs and the way they express themselves, it is difficult to connect with a yoga practice. Yoga is very personal to me, and the connection has to be there between each student and each teacher.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Scheduling, availability of classes, level of difficulty in classes, pricing and packages, and definitely being family friendly. That is so important to us at Brawling Buddha! Family is our number one priority.
