About

I am a dedicated artist who loves painting acrylic and/ or watercolor. I graduated from Penn State University in Art Education and enjoyed years of teaching art to children in Pennsylvania, Colorado and Florida. The ability to guide and teach art comes from my understanding of the importance of the learners "personal journey" and then learning through the basic elements of art to create meaningful work. By working with the students own interests and using the elements of art, students can find amazing developments and satisfaction that not only helps them with art, it transfers to all other subjects like science, math and language. This is the magic of art! I know it and can share it.

Color! I find my greatest joy is finding beautiful colors and working them into my paintings and trying to create something that captures the eye and the extends the imagination.

    2. Explain how we will learn as we go hrough the first 10 minutes warm up practice on a sketches!

    3. We will choose one of 3 possible goals for the day and dicuss what kinds of things we might learn from these goals.

For example:  Drawing curvy lines for gentle or softness / drawing bold strait lines for flat objects / filling in detail on the shape. (these are just examples for very young beginners)

    4. Give a hands on lesson that practice each goal.

    5.  Open up lesson to use the 3 goals in the drawing and to draw something they absolutely LOVE ( give them a list of ideas to bounce off of)

6 View the student at work and yet let independence thrive.

    7. encourage the student to express their thoughts and work as they go.

If time permits, have student do a second drawing and have them use the 3 goals again in a new way on this drawing.
