About
I'm an award winning artist in my own right, trained and experienced in multiple mediums. I have also taught individuals/groups of all ages. Some people pick up the skills/information very quickly while others take much more time to develop skills. I stress practice and patience.
I enjoy helping others develop their talents and skills.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to see works the student has already completed so that I can evaluate a skill level. This also shows me their subject interests so that I can offer skills projects that keep the student engaged. Beginners often just have a subject matter of interest and so we start with basics of proportion and light.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been drawing/painting since childhood. Throughout high school and college I won many first place awards for my works. After that my focus was on raising my own children and teaching airbrush illustration periodically around the country via large seminars. Most of my art was destroyed when my TX home flooded. Having now survived lung cancer I am driven to again rebuild my portfolio and teach others to hone their skills.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing depends on how far I am traveling and if I am providing materials. Art/drawing is also an investment in materials that can get expensive. I am willing to provide materials for first lesson so a student can try different things and go from there. I can work out 2,4 or 6 hour rates or a flat rate for a series of dates, depending upon medium and student goals.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching as a young girl just by helping others in my art classes. Others often admired my work so, if asked, I would help them to tweak their work to achieve what they had envisioned.
