MACTRUQUE
About
I am a locally based studio artist with a belief that being an artist is based on the approach you take to life. We are all artistic in some area, and finding how to apply that to a new craft is the enthusiasm I share with others.
I love the opportunity to discover elements which speak to me, that I then make a part of my own story by incorporating them into my artistic process. Only a small portion of this process and its products are used commercially, but each help fuel lifestyle and perspective on the balance and purposes creativity.
This who appreciate the arts are encouraged to expand their perspectives while working alongside my various workshop endeavors.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I am currently working on arts projects from my private studio and with the support of a publicly accessible space which serves as a live studio gallery. Depending on the expectations and comfort level of the 'student', we arrange a mutually comfortable space to discuss goals. From this determination, I incorporate my own art exercises into their efforts and work according to our agreed goal. I am able to do both demonstrative and collaborative works for the sake of the artist's pursuit. My aim is not traditional rudiments but the assistance of highlighting strengths and illuminating techniques to assist a productive outcome, regardless of the medium being engaged.
I ask that participants in my studio efforts share three photos of relative influence, interests and goals, and a sample of their most recent work. This gives me groundwork for understanding what they are trying to achieve. From there I develop ideas about the artist's skill level, and attempt to assist the development of a next step with the supplies at hand. My second goal is to prioritize enjoyment of the exploration of chosen chosen mediums: self expression and personal growth of supreme interest to my studio experience. At the end of early sessions, I focus on the tools we are acquiring to achieve new perspectives.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an outsider artist who was classically trained by one primary mentor. A lifelong artist who had served as a USMC illustrator. My schooling is derived from the life and works of a most singular artist, whose devotion to the journey has informed all my pursuits.
