Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Learn what their level of camera knowledge is, followed by photography knowledge. Then I use that information to have a personalized class for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have almost 40 years of professional studio and high fashion work, mixed with nature and wildlife photography. I have studied many styles of photography until creating my own.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Typically my classes run $60 per 6 week class. We meet once a week.
How did you get started teaching?
People would come into my studio and ask for help with their cameras. I decided to have a class to help them. I was also asked by a local school to teach an adult education photography class.
What types of students have you worked with?
Novices to experts. Children to adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my students became a professional photographer and opened up their own studio.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a photographer that will teach you the basics but allow you to develop your own style. Photography is an art form.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The main question that should be asked is, what type of equipment should I have to get the best out of your lessons.
