Cellist of 18 years experience playing with bluegrass, old-time, celtic and world music. Has played in touring bands, done hundreds of performances across the US and India.
Can provide a unique approach to the instrument, helping cellists break away from classical music and to be able to jam with other players without the sheet music.
We'll explore how to use your instrument as a powerful rthymic tool, exploring chords and chops, melody and harmony, and to be a versatile player. We will learn have fun with your instrument.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student has different needs, desires and abilities, and lessons will reflect that in a case by case basis.
Knowledge of scales and basic theory will be used, and then we can apply that to different tunes. Chord shapes and bowing rhythms will be used to compliment the tune being played. Exercises will be developed to work the brain and muscle memory. We will learn to find the place for your instrument in a group ensemble, finding the "pocket" rhythmically and harmonically.

Mostly classical players who are trying to break out of their repressed classical bubble. Beginners are welcome as well.
