About

I am a professional artist residing in Sneads Ferry, NC. I recently moved from the Tampa Bay Area, where I was represented by St. Pete Artworks, in St. Petersburg, FL & the Craftsmen Gallery at Suntan Art Center in St. Pete Beach, where I also taught watercolor.

I majored in art and have been painting in different mediums for 30+ years. Watercolor, however, is my forte. I have taught group workshops all throughout the Tampa Bay area, and now in the Carolinas. I am currently on the Leland Cultural Arts Center schedule for the Spring & Summer programs, teaching watercolor and art journaling. I will travel to your group for a half, full or multi-day workshop. I can host 2-3 artists in my home studio for small group lessons. I am currently not offering private lessons for a single individual.

I paint about what makes me happy, and I will help you paint what makes you happy. I love seeing students apply my ideas & guidance to grow their own personal style, rather than simply copy what I do.

    New students can join an upcoming workshop or request my services for their group. Small group classes are customized according to where the students are in their art journey and what they want to get out of the instruction. I offer a consultation to learn about your group's goals and prior experiences so that I can tailor my lessons to your needs.
    Bachelor of Arts from Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, FL; 30+ years of painting experience; a thriving professional artist practice. Have been teaching workshops & group lessons since 2018. I am a lifelong learner so I also attend workshops with other artists to keep up with new trends, learn new techniques & ideas that I can share with my students.
    Depends on the number of students, how they'd like to structure the lessons, length, travel requirements, etc.
    I find great happiness from the painting process. My painting has evolved over the years & I have learned tremendously form other great artists. I decided to pay it forward by sharing my process & lifetime of tips with others.
    Adults and older children of all abilities.
    It's important to be clear on what you want to get out of your lessons & communicate these to the instructor. Ask for a consultation or studio visit prior to hiring, to make sure it will be a good fit for you.
    What do I want to learn? How committed am I to the learning process? Am I willing to take what I learn & practice on my own? Is there a particular medium or style I am drawn towards? Am I willing to try new ideas?
