About this pro

I take time to personally get to know each of my students, what they are hoping to achieve and looking at the student from a holistic stand point.  Most of my students have some form of autoimmune condition, new to exercise and yoga or have a pain condition they are addressing.  Since I have Lupus and Arthritis I am able to relate to them and can share what I have learned in my journey.

I will devise a plan for you and keep you motivated as well as educate you along the way with nutrition and exercise.

I am certified in many areas including Yoga, Personal Training, Life Coach and Reiki Master.  I have been helping others on their journey in these realms for over 10 years and am blessed to be able to work in  a field I love.

Having the opportunity to see a real change in my students lives, physically, emotionally and spiritually.  They empower me as much as I empower them. To be able to help someone in their journey is so rewarding. I love every minute of it.

Kathy is an excellent coach! I was a first-timer with yoga and was recovering from breast cancer surgery. She was sensitive to my individual needs and with her help, I accomplished flexibility that I hadn't had in years. Her coaching style is to assess your abilities and tailor the program so that you are challenged and improve with each session. I highly recommend Kathy!

Kathy takes into account each persons fitness level. She is knowledgeable and professional, yet very friendly with compassion that shows through in her work. I had been away from class due to schedule conflicts, but was able to join right back in as if I hadn't missed a beat. I recommend Kathy for your training needs!

I have practiced Yoga for over ten (10) years and have had many, many instructors. Having said that, I have the highest regard for Yoga Instructor, Kathy Bowen. I attended Kathy’s classes for almost two years at least twice a week. Kathy knows just what her students should do, can do and can aspire to achieve. Kathy always introduced new twists into the ancient elements of Yoga to keep it fresh and exhilarating. I would recommend Kathy Bowen as a Yoga Instructor without hesitation. What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to have a conversation with my students and see what experience they have and what we are addressing with our sessions.  This helps me to understand how to gear our sessions and the areas of coaching they will need.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am certified as a Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer, Weight Management, Reiki and Life Coach.  I have worked in these fields for over 10 years as well as worked as a Medical Assistant for 20 years prior to that.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I provide 30 minute, 60 minute, and package deals for my pricing.

How did you get started teaching?

This just came naturally to me. I have exercised for as long as I can remember and started practicing yoga about 35 years ago.  Friends would ask me what I was doing as far as exercing and eating and I shared with them. I loved it and decided to become certified and help increase my knowledge and share this with others.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students that were beginners and intermediate.  Most of my students have physical challenges.  Some examples are students with arthritis, lupus, back injuries and pain.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Share with your teacher what you have experienced in the past, any concerns you have regarding your health and what you are looking to achieve.  Being honest with your teacher is the best way to be sure you are obtaining the proper training for you.  Ask the teacher if they have personal experience or worked with students similiar to your needs.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Why are you wanting to change now?  Is there an event coming up? Did something happen recently in their health to make them want to change?

What is their time frame allowed for each session.

What are a few main areas physically they want to address.

What are they afraid of in their new change?
