What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Understand their experience and their needs, Discuss their knowledge and favorite types of materials Find a starting point of interest and show examples and reference to expand their vision. if beginners,I explain the grades of pencils and their uses, Set up a drawing board and start with some rough sketches before choosing a direction in whichever media they are excited by, I like to frame work in card mounts to give students work to exhibit wherever they choose ( Free service ),I teach about 12 areas in Art and offer over 20 different tyoes of media to try,
