What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First of all, know the interests of the student, from there know their technical needs, if more classic or more contemporary. Take into account the apprentice who studies art and who wants to perfect specific resources either from the conceptual or technical point, unlike the self-taught who has other interests in learning and need more a methodology, going from traditional to contemporary, Only as a reference without going through art drawing as a basis or as a structure of the three specialties, Painting, garbado, sculpture.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts of San Alejandro, the oldest school of fine arts in Latin Amerca, our diploma is pedagogical, plus experience as a professor of engraving in one of the prestigious universities in Chile, Finiss Terrae and Pontificia Universidad Catolica Of Chile faculty of arts. I have given Workshops in Havana in a particular way in my studio, in the area of painting, especially engraving and painting colography.

I charge 25 dollars the minimum hour
How did you get started teaching?
I began to teach for an invitation that they made me in Chile, to dictate seminars in the area of engraving and thus was developing the workshop with students

The majority has been with arts students, but I have also had self-taught

I like Art Basel very much, as it is the moment in the year where the great international art show is celebrated in Miami, where you can see the professional scene of how this world of artists and galleries are maintained and moved. That is something important for students to see and assist this type of evente to be updated of what happens in the international art scene-
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Directly that is identical with the artistic work of the teacher and recommended pedagogical and methodological experience
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be clear about your interests and goals, whether it is a priority for your life or just a hobby. The road is long but full of gratification to see its evolution and the representation of an image linked to a creative and technical process. In order to reach the viewer in a way that is the ultimate goal. Understand and be understood.
