I teach painting classes in english/spanish for beginners/ advance adults students in reduce groups at my Art Studio location in Midtown Miami. Also I have a visiting program teaching the classes in the location where the students are.

Teaching is individual according with the student level and goals. Classes are 3 hours long, one or twice a week. Usually materials are not included because i recommend the students work at home too, but they can be provided with an extra fee. I have a variety in my schedule that includes morning classes, early afternoon and evenings in different days of the week and also Saturday afternoon.

I have also a program for children classes organize in different groups according with the age of the kids focusing in painting, drawing, collage and mixed media.

I teach the following classes for adults: Basic Painting class Acrylic/Oils, Advance Acrylic Painting class, Advance Oil painting class, Watercolor class Beginners/Advance Students, Drawing Basic class Beginners/Advance students, Figure Drawing class Beginners/Advance students, Abstract Painting class Beginners/Advance students, Experimental Abstract Painting class, Plain Air Painting class, Painting as the Impressionist class Beginners/Advance students, Figure Painting class, Portrait Painting class, Mastering Still Life Painting class, etc

I teach also intensive one or two days Workshops (6 or 8 hrs long) usually during weekends like: Color Theory, Abstract Painting, Expressive Painting, Big Scale Painting, Plain Air Painting, Expressive Drawing, Drawing Sketching, etc

I am an artist and an art instructor. Art and express myself through painting is my passion. I like to share that feeling with my students guiding them to make their personal journey. I facilitate the tools for them to know and doing what they want in art. Like a house you need to have a solid foundation to build the rest. This is what I am offering with my classes: A solid basic knowledge that allows my students to express themselves making good quality artwork, mastering composition and all the techniques they need for that goal.

My classes are ideal for the beginning or intermediate student-artist who wants to improve their painting skills. Individual instruction, demonstrations and exercises will cover the fundamentals of painting with acrylics or oils, such as: Color combination, color contrasts, form, value, shape, texture, composition, balance and use of brushes and other painting tools assist you in developing a body of work and a personal vocabulary..

Students are encouraged to experiment with paint, learning how to paint abstract paintings or still-lifes, landscapes and portraits that express their personal style exploring all painting classic techniques. Through a series of exercises they will learn how to prepare surfaces, paint mixing, selecting and organizing your color palette, and brushwork.

I am teaching some Painting classes at the Art Center South Florida in South Miami Beach and privately in my art studio during the last 20 years.

My timing in coming to Pablos class was perfect. His enthusiasm and constructive/positive critique of my work gave me the right amount of impetus, inspiration and confidence to help me fly off and advance my development to a whole new level. He created a very stimulating environment in his studio space for everyone, no matter how advanced, or not, to feel a certain degree of confidence and comfort to be able to continue advancing in ones evolutionary artistic path. I give him my highest marks and acknowledge his influence in helping me to continue attaining the goals I set for myself in my creative endeavors. Thank you Pablo!!!!!

Pablo is a wonderful instructor. His classes are fun and he adapts to your level of skill and experience. In just one course I learned so many new techniques that I never knew about. He also works well with your schedule and allows you to come to a class at another time if you cant always make it at the same time. His guidance helped me a lot with my artwork and enabled me to develop new and exciting skills. I am actually planning to take another one of his courses.

Frequently asked questions

I introduce myself and explain the concept of art and painting as a discipline to express oneself.

I start asking why the student decided to take painting lessons, establish a conversation where I also talk about my own experience and why I decided to be an painter, how I started and how were my first steps in the learning process.

I start asking if the student has a previous painting experience to know in which level he/she is. After that I explain what is the goal of the course for a beginner or an advance student and the plan we are going to use to get that goal.

If its beginner I start with a basic color theory explanation to let the student know how color works, follow by an order for the distribution of the main colors in the palette, this is going to help the student to remember the color’s laws that previously explained, after that I make some demonstration mixing some colors, taking advantage of the order in the distribution of them in the palette, that makes easier to do any color needed.

If the student is advance, I review some of his/her previous artwork to know which elements in the composition have to be reinforce or improving. I have a dialogue with the student to know his/her expectations with the plan I am proposing and the goal of the class.

I got my MFA with specialization is painting at the Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata Buenos Aires, Argentina after 6 years, I got also a professor degree in Visual Arts. My art school has a great level although, in those years, was very academic, I wanted to develop a more free way to work, Color is the main element in my artwork and it has to do with the wish to express emotional states, that’s why I also took some private lessons with the best art instructors and artists searching something out of the academic world, looking for freedom and also a obtain great quality in my artwork.

I won a scholarship, immediately after I finished school and I asked to study with artist Luis Felipe Noé who accepted me as a student. Noé broke rules, in addition to being an artist; he is a theoretician of aesthetics. That experience in his studio was very enriching.

If classes are in my art studio for a reduce group and the students bring their own art materials I charge $50 for a three hrs class, for adults. For kids $40 for a 2 hrs class. If art materials have to be provided is a fee of $25 more. If I have to teach the class going to the student location is a fee $20 more. If is a individual private class (only one student) I charge $70 for adults and $40 for children

I was designated Professor's Assistant of Painting in the Department of Fine Arts, UNLP, Buenos Aires, Argentina, when I was still a student in the same University, accepting this position for four years. Simultaneously I started to teach some other institutions and some private art classes too.

Last October I taught a One week Expressive Painting workshop for adults in Venice, Italy at ll Chiostro.

This course covered beginners & advance students who wanted to explore painting with acrylic or oil paint and gave them the option of creating abstract or representational works of art in the magnificent artistic environment that Venice offer. Students made different painting skills focusing in spontaneity & expressiveness combining studio hours with some outside sessions and some museums and/or collections visits

First: Look at the artwork the instructor makes as an artist, to know if it has has quality & looks professional.

Second: Make a research in the instructor description here to know how he/she teaches, his/her experience, methods, advices, etc

Third: Contact the instructor and have a conversation (phone call o email) with him/her explaining what are you looking for to be sure he/she can help you and if really is the teacher you are looking for.

Fourth: If the student have some experience in painting and have made already some artworks, ask the teacher to show them to him/her for a brief critique and evaluation. Ask the teacher also what recommends to improve it and if he/she can make a plan for that goal.

talking to teachers about their needs?

The students should ask why to any explanation the teacher says.

They should ask how their artwork could be improved to the maximum.

They should ask which elements in their painting are well done and which elements should be better and how.

They should ask the teacher to do demonstration of the techniques they want to learn.

They should ask the teacher for a plan for them to work at home between classes.

They should show the teacher images of their favorite artist and ask questions about how the artwork was made.

They should discuss their art ideas with the teacher to know his/her suggestions to success them.

They should show the teacher all artwork they make to have a constant feedback about the its progress and new suggestions to enrich the learning creative process.
