    Frequently asked questions

I always do an assessment in their skill level and see the tools they are using on the first meeting l. After that we set expectations and goals and I advise what are the tools needed to accomplish the goals.
I have an Associate Degree in Art / Art Education and a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design and have been working on the field since 2001 and doing art all my life in all types if media.
Usually starting at $30 an hour per student if they are within a 15 minutes drive distance. $40 or more depending on the driving distance after that.
It started as a labor of love because I know how important is for direction when it comes to art. I was mostly self-taught but could have benefited if I had a tutor to help me when I first started.
I have worked with students as young as elementary school level, middle schools and high school level. I have also worked with adult students as old as in their 70s. I believe it’s never too early or too late to learn art, whether it is as a form of self expression, as a skill set or for profit or all of the above.
One of my students was very motivated and she really likes learning new skills and went above and beyond on her assignments because she was proud and passionate about her work, not only that, she also had other talents that she proudly but humbly is developing. Also her parents supported her which is very important which helps develop self confidence.
Look for someone who is knowledgeable. Someone who is willing to listen to what your needs and goals are. Look for someone who will help you reach your goals. Also remember that when it comes to art you can only get better the more you practice but you have to spend the time and be disciplined, results will not happen overnight.
What are my goals? What media do I want to learn? Am I willing to practice and do all the work required to learn and improve?
