Melissa's Math Gym

Hello my name is Melissa, I have always had a passion for mathematics and for helping those that struggle with understanding the language of math. My experience as a Math tutor and Mathematic Learning Assistant has hoaned my skills in diagnosing students specific learning styles, and how to overcome their learning difficulties. This has always helped me tailor unique teaching methods for individual students to achieve their goals. Over the years I have taught diferent levels of mathematics ranging from Algebra to Calculus I to individual students and in-class sized setting. While compleating my Bachelors Degree in Biology at FIU I was able to work for the Mathematics department as a Leasning Assitant to Math proffessors and complete an Internship with the Math Department.

My purpose as a tutor is not only to teach the students specific lessons or subjects, but also to help them make sence of math as a whole and show them the fluidity of math as a whole and build on what they already know. I belive my experience with teaching diferent levels of math can help convay the importance of builing on past knowlage.
