Michelle VanTine Photography
About
Hi there! I'm so thrilled to hear that you want to learn more about photography. Photography is an amazing way that you can show the world your unique perspective, you can grow as an artist, and it can even lead to lifelong creative careers. My name is Michelle VanTine.
I taught art and photography for 5 years in the school system (public and private) after receiving a Bachelor's in Art Education. In 2008 I decided to take the plunge and go full time with my photography career. Since then, I've had the honor of photographing AMAZING people, places, and things. I've worked with international 5-star hotel chains, Grammy musicians, couples, food, sports, landscapes, fashion and small businesses just to name a few.
I have also been blessed with having my work printed regularly in magazines in the US and UK and winning many awards such as "Best Wedding Photographer" for the Knot and "Washingtonian Bride and Groom" for many consecutive years.
I love working as a photographer full time, but I also miss sharing my passion for the field with your budding artists. I hope we can connect soon and I can help you on your journey.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process for working with a new student would first be to hear about their interest and aspirations with photography. I would get a feel for what they know, and what they want to learn. Based on that I would outline a series of sessions that builds towards their goal. It would be a combination of technical knowledge with learning resources, as well as photographing and homework photo projects if their schedule allows.
