About
I want my students to know that I am the kind of person that make art a joyfully experience. There's nothing wrong or right in art, it's just following your heart and instincts. I truly believe that everyone can learn and be great at developing plastic art skills. And I will be there to guide you the best way I can!
I have two passions, medicine and plastic arts. That’s why my slogan goes “doctor at am, artist at pm”. My passion for art definitely comes from helping my community, and has been part of my life since I can remember. I created a program using the hashtag “#ArtWithPurpose” and "HeartsForACause" because the art that I do is focused in helping others and having purpose. Here in the US I have been able to explore so many art fields like Resin art, alcohol inks, creating silicone molds, and wearable art... these are definitely my favorites. I am thrilled and thankful for being here, and now sharing my art skills with fantastic people, is a gratifying learning experience also for me!
Additionally, I am bilingual, I can teach you in both English and/or Spanish.
Art is the pure expression of yourself. I love art in all its forms because it represents your essence, and at the end you are showing "selling" a sentiment. And there's nothing more beautiful and gratifying than inviting others to know you through art, and loving you that way.
You can learn more about me and the art that I do on my social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook @coquito_gallery).
A lot of what I know today I have learned from reading, documenting myself, practicing a lot (trial and error), watching videos on internet, and investing in courses. I just want to provide my knowledge in the art fields that I know best, so you don't have to waste time and money figuring things out... And also being conscious about the planet and our health. Some materials might be irritant to us humans, so it's very important to know how to be protected all the time.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like first to have a conversation to see what the goals are for my students. I like to explain why I use the materials I use and also to see what materials they have at home or are familiar with to start from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I did not study art. It is something that I have been learning by myself and through family members. My training has been basically obtained by lots of trial/error, watching tons of videos on the internet, and some courses that I have done over the past 2 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Right now, I am exploring the teaching experience. My prices fluctuate according to the materials and classes that my students want to obtain/learn from me.
How did you get started teaching?
People have asked me to teach them. So I started with some workshops through zoom and it has been a beautiful experience. I would like to teach more.
What types of students have you worked with?
Adults mostly, and children (4-10years).
