About
I've been playing the flute since 6th grade. I'm 36 now so I've had many years experience on the flute. I taught my niece how to play the flute since she was in sixth grade. Now she is in 9th grade and she plays the flute really well. I have a passion for music and I enjoy helping my niece achieve her goals.
I would like to offer the same kind of service and help others achieve their goals. I will help students achieve their goals by asking questions about why they are taking lessons and what their goals are. Then I will give them tips on how they can improve as we are working on a scale or a piece of music.
In my middle and high school year, I participated in solo and ensemble and got a superior rating. I also played solo for the State Of Florida and got an excellent rating. In my senior year, I auditioned in an orgistra and made it in the advanced band.
I enjoy the beauty of music and helping others to reach there full potential.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For a new student who hasn't played before, my typical process is to work with the flute head joint and work on getting a sound on the flute. Then I have them blow the air across the mouth piece as they hold the head joint in playing position. Then I teach them how to put the flute together. Then they practice getting the sounds out with the flute put together.
As they get better at getting the sounds out, we go over the fingering chart and learn the notes. For a more experienced player, we go over different songs they need to work on that they have from class. Or I have materials if student doesn't have music but preferred that students bring their own.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have participated in band since I was in sixth grade. I also participated in solo and ensemble and auditioned in the symphony orgistra.
