I started this summer having lessons with Carla and I cant be more happy to have found a coach like her on this website. She is very nice and patient specially since I am a beginner. She makes sure I understand the movements correctly to move on to the next one. Cant wait to see my tennis skills at the end of this summer!

Carla is a great tennis coach, I started taking classes with her this year. What I liked the most about her coaching is that she helped me not only to improve my tennis but also to improve my mental game while playing tennis. Throughout the lessons, she would give me some advice, as she is studying sports psychology. This is what distinguishes her the most from other coaches.

    Frequently asked questions

When working with a new student, I start by assessing their age and skill level to tailor the training process to their specific needs. I evaluate their abilities in four key areas: physical fitness, agility, and footwork; technical skills and technique; mental toughness, including their attitude and resilience after making mistakes; and, for more advanced players, their tactical understanding and strategies during matches. This comprehensive assessment allows me to design a personalized training program that addresses their strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring a balanced development in all essential aspects of tennis.
I hold multiple certifications and advanced degrees that enhance my ability to coach tennis effectively. I am a certified tennis coach with extensive training in teaching the game to all skill levels. Additionally, I have a master's degree in mental performance coaching, specializing in tennis players, which allows me to help students develop their mental toughness and resilience. I am also a certified nutritionist and personal trainer, equipping me with the knowledge to advise on proper nutrition and physical conditioning, ensuring my students are well-rounded athletes both on and off the court.
I started teaching tennis in my hometown of Peru at my local club, where I quickly fell in love with coaching and mentoring young players. This passion for teaching followed me when I moved to the United States to attend Barry University. My journey began by volunteering at local tennis clubs and coaching youth programs, which quickly evolved into a professional career. Seeing the improvement and joy in my students' faces fueled my dedication to becoming a certified tennis coach, and I furthered my expertise with a master's degree in mental performance coaching. This combination of experience and education has allowed me to effectively teach and inspire students of all ages and skill levels.
I have worked with a diverse range of students, spanning various ages and skill levels. My experience includes coaching young children as young as three years old, guiding them through the fundamentals of tennis, as well as working with adults up to seventy-five years old who are either new to the game or looking to refine their skills. I have also coached competitive players, helping them develop advanced techniques and strategies. My students have varied from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced players, each bringing their unique challenges and goals to the court. This broad spectrum of coaching experience has enabled me to adapt my teaching methods to suit the individual needs and aspirations of each student.
When looking to hire a tennis coach, it's crucial to find someone who aligns with your goals, interests, and energy. Look for a coach who has experience working with players at your skill level and who understands your specific objectives, whether it's improving your technique, enhancing your mental game, or preparing for competitions. It's also important to find a coach whose teaching style resonates with you and who can keep you motivated and engaged. A good coach should not only help you improve your tennis skills but also make the learning process enjoyable and rewarding. Take the time to meet potential coaches, ask about their coaching philosophy, and see if their approach matches what you're looking for in your tennis journey.
students should consider several questions to ensure they find the right fit for their goals and aspirations. Firstly, they should reflect on their specific objectives in tennis, whether it's improving their technique, enhancing their fitness, or preparing for competitions. They should also think about their preferred learning style and any past experiences they've had with tennis coaching. Additionally, students should consider logistical factors such as their availability for lessons, budget considerations, and the location of coaching sessions. Finally, students should think about any specific concerns or areas of focus they have in mind, whether it's mental toughness, strategy development, or overall game improvement. By carefully considering these questions, students can have more productive discussions with coaches and ultimately find the right teacher to help them achieve their tennis goals.
