About
I teach online and at my studio in Orlando. My classes are 1 hour long and we move at your own pace, no pressure. You can choose between individual classes or group classes. You will have the lessons printed or emailed to you to follow during classes with activities for you to practice in class and at home. I teach drawing fundamentals which cover line quality, perspective, use of a grid, how to draw from photos and from observation, cartoon, caricature, portrait, still life and environment drawings, volume and light study, shading technics, gesture drawing, and much more. We will track your progress by having you do a drawing without instruction first and a drawing after each class to be later compared with the first one. I teach students of all ages and levels. My technics are a combination of self thaught practice and professional training from the University of Central Florida. I have 10 plus years of experience working as freelance artist as a children's book illustrator, doing caricatures for parties and events, portrait commissions and painting indoor murals at Orlando and nearby areas.
I do what I love everyday and I get paid to do it. Art has been my only source of income for over a decade and I enjoy the freedom and flexibility to make my own schedule and be my own boss. I can help you get there. You can try to figure it on your own or you can let me show you the short cuts. I can assure you you will see improvements after the first class and I have before and after photos of students work to prove it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually have the student draw something for me so I know what level to start with. My lessons normally last 1hour in which I demonstrate the tecniques follwed by activities for the student to practice in class while I give instructions. The student goes home with a printed copy of the lessons and more activities to practice at home wich I revise on the next lesson. On the first class I usually introduce conventional and unconventional materials that I use to draw and shade, and demonstrate how to use them. Them we move on the lessons which includes how to use a variety of grid tecniques to enlarge and minimize images from a photo, figure drawings from observation using mecanical tecniques , negative and positive space study, basic, organic shapes, and combine shapes, light study, shading tecnics, and more.
