About
I am puertorican which allows me to reach those who may need Spanish services. I also have a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts and I have been teaching the ESE population, for over 15 years. I truly believe that everyone has a hidden Artist within them that is waiting to be discovered and unleashed! It is my mission to help students of all ages and abilities, discover it by showing them the tools and skills they need to express their creativity.
I truly find joy when someone has connected to their inner artist! Watching others discover their own unique creativity really lights me up. I have spent most of my career teaching individuals with special needs. This has allowed me to break down areas that may seem intimidating and teach them in a way to everyone can access and achieve. Your skill level does not matter because everyone can learn and build on new skills, no matter the age! I also truly love helping bringing someone's vision to life.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process begins with assessing the level of my new student and then proceeding with lessons that will build on their skills. I truly believes it's important to understand the fundamentals of Art and using those elements to create what one is looking to learn.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts with a continued study in Education. I also have extensive experience working with the ESE population.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Id like my first lesson to be an introductory price then if a connection is made and more lessons want to be had then we come up with a plan and pricing.
How did you get started teaching?
I first began my career as a teaching assistant working with mostly nonverbal autistic children and other kids with special needs. Then I was blessed with transitioning into the role of Art educator within the same community and it really opened my eyes and approach to connecting with my students. It's where discovering the artist within you really came out. I enjoyed highlighting the artistic abilities of my students that was often overlooked and underestimated!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all different ages and abilities, and special needs, ranging from K to Adults.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say to make sure that whoever you choose to be your teacher, or guide in this area, that they be kind and patient. That they have the experience you're looking for and yet are open to your ideas and approaches to your learning and applying them in their approach on teaching you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what skills they would like to learn or build on? Is it a skill or medium? How far do you want to go with the lessons? What is their overall expectation of the teacher?
